The Gattis Elementary School PTA operates as a local campus chapter under the broader umbrella of the Round Rock ISD Council of PTAs and the Texas PTA. 

The root history of the Gattis Elementary PTA began in 1992 when Round Rock ISD first opened the doors to Gattis Elementary. Gattis Elementary PTA representes over thirty decades of volunteer-led coordination and systemic advocacy for families at Gattis. 

Over the years, the Gattis Elementary PTA has functioned as a vital bridge between school staff, parents, community, and students. Their historical and ongoing presence on campus centers around several key initiatives: 

• Student Enrichment & Events: The PTA has a long history of organizing major campus community events, such as annual school carnivals, field trips, and publishing the school yearbook.

• Cultural & Educational Support: The PTA plays a supportive role in campus traditions, alongside educators who lead programs like Black History Month events and hands-on STEM and arts exhibitions.

• Financial & Resource Support: Through various PTA Fundraiser Programs, the organization secures funds and supply points used directly to buy books, classroom necessities, and materials for art and physical education.

• Alumni Scholarships: To reward deep roots within the community, the Gattis Elementary PTA Scholarship is traditionally awarded to graduating Round Rock ISD high school seniors who completed at least four full years at Gattis Elementary during their childhood. 

According to the by-laws, each board member may hold their position for two years. Only four of the positions are elected board positions: President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary.
